He didn’t have the stolen vehicle for very long. About an hour after her pickup truck was stolen out of her yard, a Vernon woman got her vehicle back. Vernon RCMP spokesperson, Gord Molendyk, says the Ford pickup was stolen Tuesday morning. “The owner was driving on 25th Avenue approximately a half an hour later and noticed her truck at the Petro Canada service station. The owner confronted the male driver about her vehicle, he then jumped back into the truck and drove off,” says Molendyk. He says police located the truck abandoned in the 1700 block of 45th Street a short time later. “With the assistance from the police dogs they were able to track the suspects to a complex in the 1600 block of 45th Street.” Molendyk says the man who was observed driving the stolen truck was arrested in one of the apartments in the complex. A 20-year-old Vernon man, who is well known to police for property crimes, is facing charges of possession of stolen property. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
