Creek funding clarified

The City of Vernon is clarifying where funding is coming from for major improvements to BX Creek. Through the federal government’s Gas Tax Fund, the city has been awarded $801,800 to upgrade the creek from Swan Lake to Pleasant Valley Road.The Gas Tax Fund delivers infrastructure funding to municipalities primarily for projects that lead to cleaner air, cleaner water or reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The Union of B.C. Municipalities administers the Gas Tax Fund in B.C. in collaboration with the federal and provincial governments.
