Potential Liberal Candidates

Starlee Speers - Vernon 105.7 SUNFM:

A couple of North Okanagan mayors and even one former mayor are thinking long and hard about taking a run for the Liberal nomination in the Okanagan-Monashee riding. Former Armstrong Mayor Jerry Oglow tells us politics are in his blood and he hasn't ruled anything out. Vernon Mayor Wayne Lippert says he's been approached by a few people suggesting he throw his hat in the ring, but hasn't made a decision yet. And Lumby Mayor Eric Foster says he's seriously considering the position as well, and will make a decision early next week. Liberal MLA Tom Christensen's announcement this week that he was leaving politics to spend more time with his family caught most people off guard. The nomination meeting has yet to be scheduled for the riding.

The people that I've asked in regards to this issue all feel the same way ...less than impressed if Mayor Wayne left his post after three months..triggering an expensive byelection...
