Local Government Statistics

These charts illustrate the property taxes imposed on the various classes of property in the Municipalities. (Vernon, Coldstream,Armstrong, Spall, Enderby & Lumby)

The Percent of total taxes paid by Residents (From 58% to 86%) as compared to Business and Light Industry varies throughout the region.

The variance on a $100,000 property in the various classes (Residential, Farm, Business, Light and heavy Industry) is revealing of the varied community property class value ranges.

**The Regional District taxes on the $100,000 cheat sheet are the actual rates and ratios but the extensions are made on the bases of the Regional Taxes being charged on both lands and improvements. This is not the case for some of the major functions at NORD- namely Multiplex , performing Arts and Parks which are based on Improvements only while the SIR program are charged on Land only. This can skew the figures shown for the final total taxes on the property. Consequently these figures are representative figures and will vary according to the land and improvement components of an individual property.
