Is there any organized opposition to the borrowing millions for the library this time? I find it hard to believe 1000 people use the library every day and that it needs to be expanded.

If you don't want "ONE BIG LIBRARY" in downtown Vernon, download that Elector Response form, fill it in and return it to the Regional District.

No borrowing = no new library

Personally, I don't understand why the ORL is not in favour of establishing multiple, smaller branches equipped with Internet stations throughout the service area. That would serve more people, reduce more carbon emissions, encourage more pedestrian/cycle access, and employ more librarians/staff than one big branch in downtown Vernon ever will.

What a waste of money-wish that somebody would take over from Stamboulieh and get this thing rejected

If you think it is a waste, fill out the form & send it in!

I wish there was space for comment:

I am only saying NO because I don't like the concept of borrowing for "One Big Library".

ORL not OBL!

Let's invest in the "R"!

Regional-ize it! Mobilize it!

Partner with School District 22, who share ORL's mandate of life-long learning.

Ask for taxpayer support by requesting the City's manpower, maintenance, tax relief, etc. instead of giving away land.

How about mobile high-speed internet vans/labs for poorly-serviced areas, or 3G/4G stick rental.

A long-term plan to take over (surplus? abandoned? community?) school sites throughout the regional service area, connect sites to high speed internet (industry partnership?), equipped with (surplus?) equipment... employing skilled librarians/teachers/staff, who serve people throughout the regional service area, reducing carbon emissions, stimulating our economy!

Oops - sorry I deleted.

Question:
How many SD's in the ORL?
