You've got two weeks to fill your pool, hottub, pond or water your turf. Vernon Mayor Wayne Lippert says the Regional District Board of Directors have decided to keep the stage three water restrictions in place, but they won't enforce them for two weeks. Lippert says they have also voted to set up a Drought Management Team which will have reps from the pool industry as well as hotels, tourism and agriculture. He says 75 per cent of users get their water from Kal Lake and the head gates are full. Lippert says there are serious drought issues for Duteau Creek, but the rain is helping and now it is only the upper elevation reservoirs that are low. Nord Chair, Herman Halverson says the one good thing is the awareness has certainly increased. Halverson says they need to be cautious because the peak water use months are in the heat of the summer.Lippert says they will re-evaluate in two weeks - in the interim residents are to follow stage two rules of twice per week watering.

That statement is incorrect. Stage three restrictions are still the rule except they will not be enforced for two weeks. It's kind of the idea of "limbo" or undefined.
what a pile of crap-they don't know what they are doing.
