The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen has decided to move forward with an internal operational audit rather than a core services review. Last month, at an RDOS meeting, it was discussed if they should undergo a core services review similar to the one recently received by the City of Penticton. At the regular meeting on Thursday the board adopted the terms of reference for the RDOS internal operational audit. The audit will review operations, finances, processes and service delivery, combined with an organizational review including staffing levels and reporting relationships. The objective is to identify opportunities to streamline operations and processes to achieve cost-efficiencies and service improvements. The RDOS employs about 60 staff and serves 90,000 residents on a $28.2 million budget for this year.
