A tip from the public has resulted in the discovery of a grow op in the North Okanagan. On Tuesday, members from the Vernon/North Okanagan detachment executed a search warrant in the 1700 block of Grandview Avenue in Lumby. RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says a 30-year-old woman was home at the time. “She was arrested and taken into custody. A 30-year-old man later turned himself into police in Vernon,” says Molendyk. He says the search of the residence found 120 marijuana plants. “Half were in the drying stage and the other half were in the growing stages. The search also located a quantity of suspected Ecstasy some in capsule form the remainder in power form.” Molendyk says police have released the two individuals on a promise to appear for possession for the purposes of trafficking and production of marijuana. Further charges are likely to be laid in relation to the Ecstasy that was seized. This residence was posted under the Drug Bylaw in Lumby.
