The City of Vernon will be well represented at fall’s Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) annual convention. Council approved the attendance and related expenses for Mayor Wayne Lippert and Couns. Jack Gilroy, Mary-Jo O’Keefe and Shawn Lee. The convention is set for Sept. 27 to Oct. 1 in Whistler. UBCM is an organization that has served and represented the interests of local governments in B.C. since 1905. Every fall, there is an annual convention where delegates from local governments get together to discuss ideas and platforms that could benefit the province.
