Calgary is the Vernon 2014 Royal Bank Cup tournament bid committee's stop this week as they make their pitch to Hockey Canada.. Spokesman Don Klepp says they have put a spin on their presentation,
beyond the usual what facilities the area has and can they handle the
number of people. He says it'll be mid May when it happens and they're pushing it as a
tourist destination, a holiday package, as much as a hockey tournament. Klepp says nearly 300 people signed up to help. He says "We've raised nearly 7 thousand dollars, that's to finance
this bid, it's paid our bid fee of 25 hundred dollars, it's taking us to
Calgary, it's paying for the production costs of putting together our
presentation."The winner, between Vernon and Quebec's Terrebonne will be announced at this year's tournament
