Twoonies, loonies litter the road after Brinks crash on Highway 11

Police say a Brinks tractor trailer spilled a load of several million dollars after hitting a rock cut

Highway 11 between Matheson and Kirkland Lake is closed while authorities pick up a bit of change. They're using a magnetic crane truck from Timmins. This follows a serious crash on the highway this morning involving a tractor trailer carrying several million worth of Canadian coin currency according to the Ontario Provincial Police. Originally police said there was roughly $9 million dollars worth of coinage that was spilled. That estimate has now been downsized to roughly $5 million.(more)
