Some BC MLA's aren't sure if they will seek another term, but Vernon's rep has made up his mind. Liberal Eric Foster says there's several reasons why he's decided to seek a second term. "I've enjoyed the first three years, and I think we've accomplished quite a bit, and there's more to do." There's been some criticism of Premier Christy Clark's leadership, but not from Foster. He says he fully supports Clark, and likes what she's done, including her 'Jobs Plan.' "There's things around here that have happened. All the positive changes she made to Community Living BC. We've moving ahead with health care initiatives. All those are things that come from the top. I think she's doing a good job." Unlike Foster, Shuswap MLA George Abbott is still thinking over if he will run again. Abbott has represented the riding since 1996. The next BC election is May 14, 2013. Foster admits he's concerned about a split of the right-wing vote. He says the emergence of the BC Conservative Party, only helps the New Democrats. "I've always said if we split the vote, the NDP will win. The NDP formed government in this province when the right of centre coalition doesn't stick together, and we need to stick together." The NDP's candidate in Vernon Monashee will be Mark Olsen while former South Okanagan MP Jim Hart is seeking the nomination for the BC Conservatives.
