This year's Merritt Mountain Music Festival has been cancelled. Organizers are blaming low ticket sales for the announcement, made Tuesday. On the festival's website, management said "although ticket sales had shown the promise of a solid attendance when going on sale back in October . . . sales slowed down considerably from then on and have not rebounded thereafter, causing organizers to rethink going ahead with the event with a poor turnout." Organizers said patrons who have purchased tickets are asked to call their credit card providers and request a refund. The country music festival has a history dating back 18 years and has had previous financial troubles.
