Written by Peter McIntyre  107.5 KISS FM Thursday, 17 January 2013 18:00 Vernon City Hall
The firm in charge of Vernon's core service review is ready to hear from the public. The 80-thousand dollar study -- conducted by KPMG -- is looking at all aspects of city spending and service, with  completion and recommendations to council at the end of March. A public workshop will be held at the Vernon Rec Centre auditorium January 29th from 6 to 9pm City spokesperson Courtenay Pitcher says during the session, participants will be split into groups. "Each group will have an external facilitator from KPMG. The groups will review the information on city services presented in the service profiles and discuss participants' ideas on opportunities for the city to reduce costs and improve revenues." Notes will be taken during the session and will be used as one of the inputs during the remainder of the project.
Residents and taxpayers who wish to participate in the workshop are asked to:
1) Register at: www.vernon.ca/coreReview
2) Read the "Service Profiles" before the session at www.vernon.ca/core_review/
3) Send feedback or suggestions directly to KPMG before or after the session at covcsr@kpmg.ca
