Extra time will be needed for a trial into a Coldstream water contamination incident three years ago. The Regional District of North Okanagan is fighting four charges under the BC Water and Drinking Water Protection acts. Manure spread onto a field in Lavington by a farmer got into the Antwerp Springs water source in January, 2010, leading to a week long Do Not Drink order for 1,800 residents in Lavington and Coldstream. There were no reported illnesses from the incident. Five days of court time wrapped up Tuesday but it wasn't enough, and the trial is expected to continue in the spring. Last June, Coldstream farmer Rod Palfrey and the District of Coldstream were given fines, after pleading guilty to regulatory offences.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
