Police in the North Okanagan Investigating Two Suspicious Deaths

At about 1:40 this morning the Vernon RCMP were called to Hartnell Rd for a report of shots being fired. When our officers arrived at the home they found two people deceased. Our first responding officers assisted two children and the adult relative out of the home to a vehicle. None of these three were harmed in this event.  The South East District Major Crimes Unit was called in to assist in this investigation. Working with the BC Coroners Service on this investigation, they continue to work on it and are treating the deaths of the two people inside the residence as suspicious. The names are not being released at this time as police work to notify the next of kin and continue to investigate and follow up on details of this tragic event. The investigating officers are asking anyone who might have heard shots being fired on Hartnell Rd late last night or early this morning to please call the Vernon RCMP office at 250-545-7171.
