It’s that time of year when the Kalamalka Fly Fishers invites kids to bring their fishing rod to Polson Pond to catch a rainbow trout for dinner. The 12th annual Polson Pond Fish Out takes place Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. “This is a free fishing event and is open to kids ages four to 14,” said Perry Wainwright, president of the Kalamalka Fly Fishers, adding that an adult must accompany children who are under the age of 12. The main pond at Polson Park has been cleaned and 1,000 rainbow trout have been put into the water for kids to catch. Each trout weighs about 3/4 of a pound and is 12 to 16 inches long. “And you can keep two fish each day to take home for dinner,” said Wainwright. Bring your fishing rod, bobbers, barbless hooks and worms. The club will have a fish cleaning station set up to clean fish for the kids. As well, free pictures of the kids with their fish will be taken and printed on site for them to take home.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
