Vernon’s mayor thinks riding three wheels is a great way to kick off Bike to Work Week.
“The new Tricycle Challenge with Mayor (Jim)
Garlick, the media and fellow councillors from Vernon and Coldstream
will be a fun way to create some interest in our fourth annual
provincial Bike to Work Campaign,” said Rob Sawatzky. “I am excited to see what the Global Education
class from Fulton Secondary School and the Greater Vernon Cycling
Advisory Committee have arranged for us.“If I can’t beat Mayor Garlick with the fastest
time, I can surely win by being the best dressed. We are also very
grateful that Cycle-Cycle is supplying the tricycles.” Bike to Work Week kicks off Monday with a pancake
breakfast at Cenotaph Park and the Downtown Transit Exchange from 6:45
to 9:30 a.m. The Tricycle Challenge starts at 8 a.m.
