Greater Vernon residents are being asked not to do any outdoor watering and to cut back on general water use. Water officials have had to turn off the Duteau Creek source due to what is called an 'extremely high turbidity event' which is under investigation. All 50-thousand customers in the area are now using the Kalamalka Lake source until further notice. Due to capacity reasons, all customers are being asked not to use water outdoors and to minimize all water use until further notice. All irrigation wartering is restricted to ensure water pressure and quantity is adequate for all customers.
