There's no shortage of interest in the top job at the District of Coldstream. Sixty people applied for the administrator's job before last week's deadline. Current CAO Mike Stamhuis --who retires at the end of the year -- says it was more than expected, and the next step will be to form a short list. "It will now be a process where we go through interviews and it may well be more than one round of interviews." Stamhuis says some of the top candidates will be interviewed by all of council. He says they hope to have someone named within three months. "It's not a high pressure situation that needs to be dealt with really quickly." Stamhuis says applicants are from all over Canada, and a couple from overseas.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
