47 properties in the Adventure Bay area of Vernon are getting city sewer service hookups starting this week and now Greater Vernon water is coming as well. The Regional District of North Okanagan has approved adding them to the water service, something board chair Patrick Nicol says will be the residents cost. "It's not at the cost of taxpayers. It's the cost of those users who choose to join the system. To a certain degree, the more people we have on the system, the better it should function," says Nicol. The families will be part of a specified area, with the costs added to their bills. To this point the residents have been on septic, and served by a private utility for their water. Nicol says they have had several requests from others to be connected.
