Things are tight as RDNO staff try to move ahead on the new sports facility by Okanagan College. Parks planner Keith Pinkoski says they're hoping to go to tender on the drainage work in time for a start in the first part of October. "It looks like our site work is probably going to take four weeks and then we should be shutting it down just before we have some issues with the frost or the weather starts to settle in." Pinkoski says that start is dependant on the archeological study required, the team is still waiting on provincial permits, but could be done in time for the drain work to start. The agricultural land commission has mandated the facility be completed by November next year as a condition of the use of farm land. Voters approved spending up to 7.5 million dollars on the facility in an April referendum.
