It will be almost three years to the day when the Regional District of North Okanagan is sentenced for a tainted water case. The district faces a fine for offences under the BC Water and Water Protection Acts, with sentencing set for January 16th. Livestock effluent got into a Coldstream well on January 13th 2010, after a series of weather events. No one got sick, but a judge ruled the agency didn't do enough to prevent the contamination in finding guilt in September. Sentencing has been delayed two times already due to the judge wanting to clarify some comments made by an RDNO official, and when the Crown lawyer was tied up with another case.
