Vice-chairperson Rick Fairbairn has assumed the chair's duties at the Regional District of North Okanagan.Leadership has evolved at the Regional District of North Okanagan.Vice-chairperson Rick Fairbairn has assumed the duties held by chairperson Patrick Nicol, who died Jan. 15."There are a number of issues he was working on," said Fairbairn of Nicol.Fairbairn cannot be referred to as chairperson because provincial legislation only allows the board to elect a chairperson at the first meeting of December in a calendar year. When Fairbairn is not available for board meetings, directors will have to select a member to chair the session.
