Library Closed Due To Flood

Vernon's year and a half old regional library branch is closed until further notice after a water line broke Sunday night. Spokesperson Michelle Rule says they aren't sure just how much damage has been done, but they are insured. She says it's possible some books may have been lost, "because the pipe burst in the area where the book returns are, and so there could have been books in the area that had damage, mostly we're looking at damage, obviously, to carpets and possibly some furniture." Rule says they have no idea at this point how the pipe burst, but the closure could be a week or more. Anyone with books out now are asked to keep them until the repairs are complete.
