Notice to Greater Vernon Water Customers - Update Posted Wednesday, April 30, 2014

Greater Vernon Water (GVW) would like to inform customers that the Kalamalka Lake water source has been turned back on as of Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Customers may notice a change in water quality, such as an increase in hardness. This may be of interest to those customers who have in-home water treatment systems or aquariums.
As of 2013, GVW domestic water customers are serviced during normal operations by one of the two primary GVW water sources; Kalamalka Lake or Duteau Creek. Due to recent upgrades completed on the GVW system, the utility now has the capability to service all GVW customers with either source. This flexibility between the two water sources has allowed the utility to avoid a number of Water Quality Advisories and Boil Water Notices during high turbidity events. During these events, we will provide notice via our website and via media releases, however, if you have special requirements regarding water quality, please contact RDNO to be added to our “sensitive customer list” to receive an email.
For further information, please call 250-550-3700.
