Vernon's Friday night downtown market is getting bigger. Downtown Vernon Association executive director Lara Konkin says they're adding the vendors from the Vernon Friday Night Market, the one that was by Sport Chek. "What it will do is increase the produce and berries, for the summer. This is a great thing, better for the community the vendors, and the merchants. It's a way for everybody to be successful," Konkin tells Kiss FM. Konkin says it means the end of the north end market, with the Avenue Market increasing as of this Friday. She says it won't mean more of the downtown closed to traffic those nights yet, but she says the success of the market so far means it should happen. "Merchants in our downtown have seen a huge increase in traffic into the stores, especially being open on Friday evenings," says Konkin.
