Review In Store For Water Plan

Next month will be when regional officials start to review the six water projects that were rejected by Greater Vernon voters in November's referendum. Regional District of North Okanagan administrator David Sewell says they've advised Interior Health of where things sit, and now they have to decide how to go ahead. He says they must ensure the political reps are in agreement. "Rather than develop a technical plan and then find out, politically, it's not supported as strongly by the politicians," Sewell tells Kiss FM. Sewell says moving forward could be quick, or not, depending if there are any changes made to the master water plan. Voters in Vernon, Coldstream, and RDNO Areas B and C voted 7,918 No (66%) and 3,999 Yes on November 15 to the question of borrowing up to 70 million dollars for six water projects.
