Envelope of cash turned in to Vernon RCMP

VERNON - The person who lost an envelope of cash on a Vernon sidewalk will find it safe at the Vernon RCMP detachment. An area resident was out walking her dog in the area of Bodwell and Pottery Road at roughly 8 a.m. March 4, 2015 when she noticed the envelope on the ground. It was sealed and when she opened it she found a significant amount of money inside. The purpose for the cash was written on the front of the envelope, according to an RCMP media release.Mounties say the money can be claimed at the Vernon police station."The police are sure the owner can identify the amount and the purpose it was intended by what was on the envelope," RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says in the release.

The owner can contact Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 and refer to file number 2015-4331.
