Local politicians will hold a special meeting today (Thursday) to talk about where Greater Vernon's master water plan goes from here. The plan has been in limbo since last fall's failed referendum, with some residents calling for a new direction. G-VAC chair Juliette Cunningham says directors will talk about the process for a review. "We have more time this time because we don't have Interior Health imposing very strict deadlines, so now we feel we have some breathing room in terms of having an opportunity to review the plan." Cunningham says at some point, residents will also be able to participate. "We also are going to look at a strategy for public input and different models for that because we know there are some members of the community that are wondering where we are at." A citizen's watchdog group has been calling for a change in the plan's direction, to put less focus on the Duteau Creek source for the domestic supply.
