Interior Health has awarded a contract to H & H Total Care Services out of the Lower Mainland (Surrey) for 85 residential care beds in the city of Vernon. They will be part of a new care home to be built 3006 29 Ave. in Vernon. The care home will be a multi-storey building with 85 publicly-funded and five private pay residential complex care beds, as well as additional private pay assisted living beds. Construction is anticipated to begin this year, with occupancy expected mid-2017. “This is great news for North Okanagan residents,” says Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster. “These additional beds will ensure residential care services will remain available for those requiring them, and close to their home community.” IH received 10 submissions in response to the Request for Proposals for the design, construction and operation of the new beds.
