Info Booths Ready For Referendum

Posted on 11/6/2015 by Pete McIntyre 107.5 KISSFM
The process of getting information out on Greater Vernon's fast approaching arena referendum continues. The vote on adding a second ice sheet at Kal Tire Place for 13.25 million dollars will be held three weeks from tomorrow. Residents in Vernon, Coldstream, and RDNO Areas B and C will be eligible to vote. The City of Vernon has announced sites for more than dozen information booths to allow people to see the drawings, and ask questions, to allow them to make an informed decision. The first one will be this Sunday in the Grand Room at Kal Tire Place from 1030 am to 2:30 pm. “We want to provide as many ways for people to get information about the current condition of the Civic Arena, why the proposed site was selected for a new facility and what is included in the project”, says Doug Ross, Director of Recreation Services. “Information booths are being set up so that people see the conceptual drawings of the proposed facility, ask questions they may have, and get the answers they need to make an informed decision.”

Information on voting dates, locations and voter eligibility will be available.

As well, booths will have background information including the Civic Arena Engineering Assessment Report and the Civic Arena Replacement Feasibility Study.
