The City of Vernon is planning an open house to review and provide input on a proposed downtown one-way couplet. The meeting will be held March 15 at 5:15 p.m. in city council chambers to discuss the proposed 28th and 29th avenue one-way couplet between 29th and 30th streets. Planned upgrades include the replacement of underground water, sewer and storm utilities, in addition to the construction of new sidewalks and curbs and installation of streetlights and trees. The work is planned to start on March 14.For more information, call 250-550-3590, or go to the city's website.
