An Okanagan group would like to hear from anybody with a large piece of land that could be used for an outdoor amphitheatre. Diane Bond from the Okanagan Summer Festival Society says after getting shut down by the province to use a site in Coldstream, they will be seeking out other locations. She says a key requirement is being within 45 minutes of the Kelowna airport. "As well as to the Kelowna market place. I know that people in Vernon often don't like to hear that something is dependent on the participation on people from Kelowna, but this one would be." Bond says a key factor is the land would have to be donated -- as they don't have the money to buy it. "We've been approached by some people from Vernon about maybe looking for another location. We are always open to anybody whose has some land as a gift. We'd love to hear about it, but we are not in any position to purchase any land." "It would essentially be a big donation, and big donations are wonderful, but they are also very rare," admits Bond.
