Coldstream council has approved construction of a rainbow crosswalk at the existing location of the Kal Beach crosswalk. It will be included in next year's infrastructure budget and will be made out of Thermoplast paint according to Mayor Jim Garlick. "We've already started going towards using Thermoplastics on some of the more highly used crosswalks and ones that required more maintenance. This one will just be different colors added in there, that's all." "There's was no real discussion at council. We had done all that earlier at a Committee of the Whole meeting. That's been dealt with and hopefully it gets built early in the spring next year." The point of having the rainbow crosswalk is to let everyone know that Coldstream is an all-inclusive community accepting of everyone.
