The new vice chair of the Regional District of North Okanagan says she will push for the board to back a strategic plan. Juliette Cunningham says other regional district boards in the valley have one -- but not RDNO. "That holds us back in moving forward in a more timely manner in a lot of the things we deal with, so I will still push for that as vice chair. I think it's important," Cunningham tells Kiss FM. he Vernon councillor --who takes over the role from Lumby Mayor Kevin Acton -- had run for the top job on the board, but was defeated by BX-Swan Lake director Bob Fleming. Cunningham says she is still interested in continuing her position as chairperson of the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee, which makes recommendations to the RDNO board on issues like water, parks, recreation and culture. The election for that position is expected to be held in January.
