The former member of parliament for Okanagan Shuswap is definitely on the mend after having a kidney removed last June. 64 year old Darrel Stinson is hitting the links. "I just got back on the golf course and I really did miss it. I'm really starting to enjoy it again." Stinson says he has a lot of people to thank, mostly his wife and family. He served as M.P. from 1993 to 2005, in both the Reform, Alliance and Conservative parties. Before deciding not to run for a fifth term, he fought prostate and bladder cancer. The Spallumcheen resident says he's doing some "behind the scenes" provincial political work these days. "I miss politics, but that's one of the downfalls when you get cancer, sometimes you have to give up what you really do enjoy, for a while." But as for a return, even at the municipal or another level? "Not according to my wife, but me and her have a difference of opinion there. I would really like to again, if it's at all possible."
