Vernon tops Valley listings

The Kelowna Daily Courier May 13:
If you want to live in the Valley, the experts say choose Vernon. Kelowna ranked 115th out of 178 places to live in Canada for 2010, according to MoneySense magazine. The rankings included cities and towns with populations greater than 10,000, and they were based on climate, prosperity, access to health care, home affordability, crime rates and lifestyle, with subcategories in each area.
Victoria was highest among B.C. cities, coming in ninth. Vancouver ranked 29th, followed by Vernon in 37th place. Penticton ranked 130th. Six B.C. cities occupied the bottom 10 spots: Terrace (170), Prince Rupert (173), Campbell River (174), Port Alberni (175), Quesnel (176) and Williams Lake (178). Ottawa-Gatineau was the No. 1 place to live. Rounding out the top five were Kingston, Burlington, Fredericton and Moncton. (Complete List)
