Police are looking into a couple of recent robberies in the area around Justice Park in Vernon. A 41 year old man tells Mounties he was approached in the park --located near the courthouse-- by three males just after midnight Monday. The RCMP's Gord Molendyk says,"They asked him for some change and when he didn't comply they grabbed him, went through his pockets, stole his wallet, with an undisclosed amount of cash and credit cards." Molendyk says the victim wasn't able to provide any description of the suspects. He says a similar type robbery took place in that area a few days earlier.

I just got a seatbelt ticket today.....after getting it, I drove for about one block and passed the 25th ave area by the Upper Room Mission, and plain as day, a drug deal goes on before my eyes. The cop was right behind me still and does nothing. Maybe if they focused a little less on giving out seat belt tickets or other petty things and focused on the real criminals things like this would happen a lot less... The police in this town have become little more than revenue collectors for the province
