Directors expedite process for Enderby area business

Regional District of North Okanagan directors insist there is a need to ensure the economic viability of an Enderby area business.  Directors voted Wednesday to consider sending an application from North Enderby Timber to the Agricultural Land Commission without having an analysis report from RDNO staff. "This situation is time sensitive and North Enderby Timber is a significant economic driver in our area and a good corporate citizen," said director Howie Cyr of the company trying to swap Agricultural Land Reserve status on two pieces of land so it can proceed with new facilities. North Enderby Timber wants to send the ALR application to the ALC as soon as possible for consideration so it can begin the approval process for zoning and official community plan changes with the regional district. The RDNO board will consider sending the application to the ALC April 4. Look for more in Friday's Morning Star.
