Repairs to Vernon's Recreation Complex will take quite a bit of time. Community Development Director Tannis Nelson says at this point, they're in the preliminary stage of hiring a contractor. She says " We are in the early stages of tendering the project, and hope to have start up actually around July or early August." Nelson says they'll have a better idea of a completion date once tenders come in but it's hoped to be complete by years end. The facility's 1.7 million dollar fix up will look after the pool walls and roof, damaged with rot, as well as heating lines in the auditorium area, also rotting.
