RDNO Fined Over Booze Breaches

The Regional District of North Okanagan has been fined by the liquor branch over a Halloween party last October. Board Chair Patrick Nicol says the party at Wesbild Centre was supposed to be over at midnight the 29th, and under terms of the licence, no more consumption 30 minutes after that, and everybody out by 12:30 am. That didn't happen and RCMP also found liquor that hadn't been sold in the centre. The liquor branch has fined RDNO $5,000 and imposed a ten day licence suspension. No date has been specified for that suspension, but Nicol says they're making sure there won't be a repeat. The city of Vernon is the actual operator of the district owned centre.
