Highway 97 reopens after crash


6:30 a.m. Update: Our Vernon reporter says the road is now clear and open to traffic.

DriveBC alert at 5:57 a.m.: Highway 97 Both directions
Closed in both directions from Junction with Highway 6, in Vernon to 1.5 km north of Vernon, because of a vehicle incident. Vehicles are able to get through a detour via Highway 6 and 27th Ave. Estimated time of opening 6:45 am.

Motorists are being forced to find detours after a motor vehicle accident closed Highway 97 in downtown Vernon. The accident occurred early Wednesday morning at 30th Avenue and 32nd Street (Highway 97). The highway is closed in both directions from Highway 6 to 1.5 kilometres north of Vernon.
The estimated time of the highway reopening is 6:45 a.m., according to Drive B.C.'s website.
