Greater Vernon residents will be going to the polls next spring to vote on a proposed sports complex.
The Greater Vernon Advisory Committee has agreed to hold  a referendum on Saturday, April 6th to borrow up to 8.5 million dollars for a track and field facility on the Okanagan College site. If approved, the average cost per household would be 17 to 20 dollars a year, for 20 years. The question that voters will answer still has to be developed. It will be open to residents in Vernon, Coldstream and Areas B and C, passing if 50 percent plus one, support it. RDNO's Community development coordinator Tannis Nelson told the board today, the facility will have operating costs of about $40,000 a year.
