A Vernon teacher is one of 94 across
the country to receive the 2012 Prime Minister's Awards for Teaching
Excellence. The Awards were presented at a ceremony in Ottawa, just
ahead of World Teachers' Day tomorrow. Fulton Secondary teacher,
Terry Downton was recognized for entrepreneurship for grades 9 to 12.
His program for budding entrepreneurs involves local partnerships and
gets the students out into real world, where they can make their
businesses start working.
