Spallumcheen municipal officeA veteran civil servant has a new position in the North Okanagan: interim chief administrative officer for Spallumcheen. Mayor Janice Brown says they've hired Greg Betts to take them through the short term. "He's going to come in and organize us, help us out, and then come spring during the budget, we'll be hiring a full time CAO," Brown tells Kiss FM. Brown says Betts started his duties today. The move was made after last month's dismissal of Lynda Shykora, the township's CAO for eight years. Betts is a former administrator at the Regional District of North Okanagan. He will work for Spallumcheen three days a week, and continue duties as a consultant for the city of Enderby the other two days a week.
