In 2012 there was to be no increase for Council Base Pay and The Mayor declined his base rate increase. The Meeting pay that was scheduled to increase to $160 meeting was deferred until at least 2013 and remains at $137 per eligible committee meeting. Meeting pay will only be paid to those Council members who apply for it.

Council will have to decide:
- on any meeting pay increase in early 2013?
- continuation of meeting pay?
- any change to CPI formula. (Canada vs B.C. ?? ) (Note: RDNO uses B.C. CPI.)
Effective January 1, 2009 and each January 1st thereafter, all remuneration amounts contained in this Bylaw, with the exception of mileage rates, will be adjusted to the nearest dollar to reflect the annual British Columbia Consumer Price Index year-over-year change as reported by Statistics Canada.

- Under Present formula (Canada CPI) the Council remuneration will remain at the present 2010 levels ($ 20,474) until 2013 when it will increase to $22,184 (8.352% increase)
- Under Present formula (Canada CPI) the Mayor's remuneration will remain at the present 2010 levels ($ 63,466) until 2013 when it will increase to $68,767 (8.352% increase)
- All remuneration amounts are 1/3 tax free.

How about all the councilors.
You can see on the Analysis Info that Council did not receive a pay increase in 2012 nor 2013. (Council means all Councillors in this posting.
In 2014 there is planned to be a compounded increase of the CPI from 2010, 2011, 2012,, & 2013.
This will be 8.352 if the Can CPI index is used or a 6.24% increase if B.C. CPI is used and backdated.
