Extra trips are being added to the crowded Vernon to UBCO bus route. BC Transit says extra weekday runs will leave Vernon at 9 am and noon, and return from the university at 10 am and 1pm. The new service will start February 12th and continue until April 26th. RDNO chair Patrick Nicol says the route is seeing ever increasing demand. "We look forward to the transit users input on these new times," Nicol says. "The extra runs will benefit Vernon, as well as the other communities in the North Okanagan," said Eric Foster, Vernon- Monashee MLA. "This is a great example of local governments and BC Transit working together to ensure we have an efficient transit system for customers." "More than 8,300 students attend the university's Kelowna campus, and so this bus route is a valued service for students who are commuting in each day," said Norm Letnick, Kelowna-Lake Country MLA. "The extra service will go a long way, for students and faculty alike."
