Community Services Building in the old library |
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)

City Launches Pilot Project
Written by Peter McIntyre 107.5 KISSFM Tuesday, 05 February 2013 06:04
The city of Vernon doesn't usually offer discounts on its fees, but that's the case for the next couple months. Community development manager director Kim Flick says they're cutting development application charges by $200 dollars, as part of a pilot project to introduce new forms. "The pilot project is just to make sure we've got it right. It starts today (Monday) until April 26th. We have a survey for those that participate in that as well," says Flick. Flick says the normal fee for is $500 for rezoning, development variance permit, and major development permit applications. "It's an opportunity for the development community to let us know, is this right? Are we on the right track, or do parts of it need to be fine tuned?" Flick says the new forms are part of the move towards one stop shopping for the city's development services. "Part of that process has been the relocation of planning, building, business licensing, bylaws and engineering into the new Community Services building in the old library."
