It appears there could be positive news soon about the bed upgrade to Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Health Minister Margaret MacDiarmid will be in town Thursday, joining local MLA Eric Foster for a media session in the Polson Tower lobby at 1:30. A news release says "new information on the completion of the tower's top two floors" will be provided. Former Health Minister Mike de Jong announced funding for the project last May, which was followed by detailed planning on the number of beds and the actual cost. Foster has recently said the plan has been waiting for final approval from the ministry and treasury department. Adding up to 60 beds on the two floors was estimated to cost more than 20 million dollars by health officials
